    Question Possible Keynote Solution

Ok let's really test some brains. We have an idea for a keynote work around but it could be quite complex to set up. We all know it is ridiculous to try and create a material for every type of keynote derivation. For Example, having 20 different materials for every different thickness of Gyp Bd is silly. so what we would like to do is create a column in the wall assembly dialog window (see attached jpg) that can add a descriptor that is linked to the keynote text file subcategory of the spec number and description both.

We were wondering if you could then make the keynote spec file has 4 columns that worked like this (six digit number - subcategory - thickness (if applicable) - category description - subcategory description) Examples 033000 - D1 - - Cast-in-place Concrete - Reinforced Concrete Slab or 061600 - D3 - 1/2" - Sheathing - Plywood.

Then have a keynote tag that would allow you to pull that information together when you select the material.

We have been trying to figure out how to make this work but no luck yet. If this works then we can figure out if the same principal on other objects could work.

    Thanks for the help!
