Question Family help! Used Mass but should have used Generic Model

I created an object as a "Mass" family, and need it to be a "Generic Model" family instead. Whenever I attempt to copy/paste it from one to the other, only two of the three viods come over, and none of the solid portions. I have tried to change the Settings within the Mass family, but it says that Mass families cannot be changed to anything else & instructs me to try to copy/paste. Anyone know how to do this without redrawing the entire component? Thanks in advance!!

Unfortunately you've learned the hard way that the mass category is "special" and not friendly to those who "misuse" it. You will need to rebuild much of the family to get it to work. You'll need to paste the sketch(es) of the solid(s) itself into a new solid(s) in the correct category family template. Then you should be able just paste the voids in. Revit is treating the solid as a mass component even though is in a different category family. The solids won't paste in, the voids will.
