I am working on an old model, I need to edit one of the families - I cant find it in my library - but it is in my model and I cant get at it..... I would like to be able to extract a family from a model back into a family.

    Martin – excellent suggestion

Just the other day I accidentally erased a custom furniture family from one of my directories. I needed it for another project and even though the family was right there in front of me in a project file, I could not get my hands on it – very frustrating.

This should go straight to the top of the wishlist. I think it would be great if in-place families could also be exported out to families.

Agreed, cut and paste between would suffice for me...
