Default measuring the slope of a 3d face.

    Hello everyone!
it strike me yesterday when i was trying to create a slope map of a road surface. On fairly 'straight' roads, the minimum roaddeck slope to allow the water to run off is 2.5%.
yet I could see that long parts of the road would be coloured by my custom slope legend, where anything below 2.5% would get a colour.
See closer I realised the atomic entity to get a colour was each triangle...

So, how does Civil 3d measure the slope of a 3d face? I couldn't find something relevant in the help menus.

Consider this , i have a 3d face (triangle) with corners A, B, C. the lengths of the sides are not important but lets assume that the elevations for each side is A=2 above 'ground' , B =1 and C=0.
Obviously if i place and rotate an arrow on the plain of my 3dface, it will have a variable slope depending on where it 'looks', with respect to 'ground' of course.

So which slope is returned? the maximum found?

    Thank you for your help.

Default Re: measuring the slope of a 3d face.

It returns the slope that a water drop would follow, if dropped onto the triangle.
