open new dialog box missing

i'm sure this has been posted many times. but i'm at work and can't waste any more time at this.. so.. when you open acad. there is a variable that makes it go to the open dialog first. there it gives you a choice to open new or open template or open previouse drawings.
i can't remember that variable. could someone help me out. i'm running acad 2007

Do you mean FILEDIA=1 or 0 to turn off dialog box?

no filedia is set to 1. this is a gui that lets you select what file you want to open first.
either template, new acad standard dwg or a previouse drawing. it is the first thing to open after acad boots up

I think the variable is STARTUP, should be 1

I have MEP2008 and Autodesk, in their infinite wisdom, removed that from the options, system tab. They love to change things to keep us on our toes.
