Default Drag & Drop into Pallete

I was at AUGI CAD Camp yesterday and Matt Murphy taught a class on Tool Palettes. We he showed that you can drag a block/hatch/whatever from a drawing over into the palette. Yet when the four of us up at work try to do it on different computers it doesn't allow it. Its like object sticks outside the palette while the cursor moves around in the palette. What are we doing wrong, is there a button you hold down to allow you to drag into the palette?

I find I have to select the object first, and then click on it drag and drop it. So click on it to highlight it, and then click again to drag and drop it.

I have done that and it is the same thing. No drag and drop capabilities.

Try this - just kind of to see if you have the right permissions for this - I don't know that you need admin rights or anything, but...

Anyway, take some text, copy it, go to your tool palette, right click on it, and paste it to the palette that way.

Yes I can copy an item and paste it into the pallete, and even bring it in from design center or explorer. Just can't drag and drop like Mr. Murphy showed being able to do.

Then I'm stumped. Like I said, the only time I haven't been able to do this was when I tried to just drag and drop without waiting and selecting the item again after I had it highlighted. Hopefully someone else can come up with an answer.

When i do it, i select the objects (as Bren said) and drag it onto the palette, when i do this, i get a circle with a line through it as my cursor meaning i cant do this but if a wait it will change to the drag-drop cursor meaning you can. Hope this helps

Could you post a screen shot of what is happening?

Make sure your not dragging the object from a grip. As you are dragging it you should see an arrow pointer with a small rectangle.

Try click on it, hold down right mouse button and shift keyboard button, then drag to pallete.
