Wink Re: my imported rvt model keeps unloading!

    Is it "imported" or "linked"?

It should be "linked" and then use Manage Links to reload.....

    cheers...

i used the import/link - revit... from the file menu. as far as i know, there is no way to chose import vs. link using this approach. but it is essentially linked and yes, i can load and unload it using manage links...the problem is that it unloads on its own sometimes (rather randomly) when one of the team saves to central.

Possible problem: If User A Unloads the file in their session, Saves to Central and 15 minutes later User B Saves to Central, the file will unload in User B's session, too because it has been uloaded from the database.

Solution: Place your Linked RVT on it's own Link Workset, preferably all instances for both the Type and the Instance. (Properties, change Workset, go to > Edit/New, change Worset again). This is set by default if Loaded when the Active workset is your "Link" worset. Advantage: Using File > Open > Specify Worksets and Closing the Link Workset will Unload it from your session only, therefore not affecting the database and any other user.

Other possibility is that your path is set to Relative and your users see the server as having two different names? I would change your paths in Manage Links to Absolute, then Reload From and browse through a mapped letter-drive that is common to all of your users.

All the best and good luck,
    LC
