The 1(<Not Shared>) is the instance of the linked Revit file and the row above it is the type. If you were placing condo units onto a site - the condo being a single Revit file - you would link it in and copy it around the site. You can control each instance of the link individually. Each link instance would have it's own Shared Coordinate location - such as Plot 1, Plot 2, etc.
If you're dealing with just one instance of the link, you can just use the override button next to the file name, as the instance will be the same.
