    Angry linked file not showing

hi, ive linked a revit file and it only seems to show up in plans. and what shows up in plans is ONLY grids now.. all im trying to do is make a rendering of a new buiilding and show the old beuilding in the background... but i cant see model items from the link in ANY view.

all my phases look fine and phase filters too.

any thoughts? my boss wants me to do a rendering in 4 hours... im getting upset

Check it's elevation relative to the main model it's linked in. Sounds like iIt might be below your main model's view range. Go to a 3d view and see if you can find it.

If you are just seeing grids in plan view, and you've gone to the view / visibility dialog, clicked on the Revit Links tab, and checked to see if it's turned on, then it's probably way out there.

Try this. Go to a 3d view, click the view menu, and then orient, and pick south.

Once there, zoom to fit. If your screen looks blank, zoom in on the top and / or bottom to see if you can see either the main or linked model....

Or, start a new project, and link in both models....and see if you can see them...

If you have worksets enable, turn them all on in the 3D view

This could be that the worksets that the project is using were created by un-checking the "Visible by default in all views". If so it won't be possible to display those worksets in the host project. They'd have to move everything to worksets that were not created that way. You could ask the firm that provided the model to confirm. Looks like we've missed the deadline. Did you figure it out?
