Default text orientation wrong in text editor

When entering text with in-place text editor, text displays on the right side of the editing box and is rotated 90 degrees (vertical). Changing "Mtexted" settings has no effect (TL, TC, TR, BL, etc.)

(Once text is entered and "OK" is pressed, text editor disappears as it should and text shows up in proper fashion: horizontal.)

    What am I missing?

I've had that happen, too, during editing, not the initial entering, but it was mainly dependent on the rotation of my text or my VP. I have not a clue how to fix it.

Check the mtextfixed system variable and make sure it is set to 2. that may help.

The variable has not changed. It IS set to 2. The problem remains.

    GACK!

    I hope not.

...... I was looking a bit more into it (after changing my MTJIGSTRING to read: Mr.Dynamic - ROFL) and I've noticed that it's a text style specific setting ..... my "Standard" style does not do the whole rotate 90 degree thing.

Is there a way to change the way a font comes in from the text style editor? I've been unable to find a way ...
