Default Railing Profile Family Will not Show Up

I modified the standard Rectangular Handrail profile family to one to use for a rotated horizontal rail condition, but when I load it, it loads but will not show up in the location for use as a rail.

Since there is no reference lines to use to rotate the elements, I used invisible lines instead as in the old days (2). They sit under the profile lines. Are they conflicting with the profile closed loop or is something else happening. I get no errors when loaded into a project but the types show up in the families area.

    Please help!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kevin

They conflicting with the profile closed loop.
I erased the top line and it works fine, with the exception that now it has a middle line in its representation

The split profile line setting the angle conditions generates the line in the model

Thanks for the fixed family! I do not understand the information in the last post Skisouth. I must be a bit dense.

    Thanks for the help!

not dense, the answer was just too cryptic. Goncalo said there is a line in the middle of the railing. I too had worked the railing issue, and the line that he is referring to is the line generated from the profile family itself. This line is caused by the splitting of the top profile line and locking it to the railing origin for your rotate option. This split "draws" the line on top of the railing.

Now another problem with the same rail. Because I split the lines to get it to rotate about the reference plane, there is a line at the middle of the rail bar. Is there a way to do it with one line?

Skisouth thanks for your reply also!
