    Default Build a Better Parking Space

    Another one of those things that has been on my list for a long time...

    It always made me a little crazy that the OOTB Parking Space family used more width and length constraints than necessary. It also does not flex in an intuitive way that made sense to our staff. What is pw and lw anyway and whoever calculates a parking stall that way?

    Attached is one I made for our network. I do not have Type Catalogs complete and I am still thinking about whether I can make this a little friendlier (and still simple and intuitive) to an array in the project. But for the short term, you now have something to use where the sizes and angles actually make sense without doing a bunch of math in your head.

    I will post the ADA example when I get it done.

    Missed a critical part of the formula. Lesson Learned: Never post anything until you have someone else look at it. Sorry for any inconvenience. If you have downloaded this, replace the syntax in the Stall Length Clearance with the following:

    if(Stall Angle = 90°, Stall Length, (sin(Stall Angle) * Stall Length) + ((sin(Stall Angle / 2) * Stall Length) / 2))
