Default Exploding dynamic blocks w/ a flip parameter

Ok has anyone seen this or fixed this issue? I have a dynamic block with a flip parameter. If a drafter, used the mirror command on the block vs using the flip parameter; when you explode the block it resets back. I noticed, depending on which direction the block is mirrored, the X or Y scale factor will go to a negative value. If poly lines are involved, they also are exploded too.

nope, I haven't. does using "BURST" make a difference?
Sometimes, i get lost in my own thoughts and need to ask directions to find my way back.

Nope, that is what we are actually using to explode the blocks with. that way if there were attributes, they just explode to the value. This is wierd.

I hope Matt Murphy isn't listening. He doesn't like the "E" word

I've noticed that it is with all dynamic blocks. Mirror & explode(burst) a bad combination. We explode dynamic blocks here as much as we manipulate them, for multiple reasons. I am huge FOR nesting dynamic blocks. Yes there are quirks, but no more than dealing with attributes.

This is bigger than I thought. If you do explode the dyn block that has a negative X or Y scale values, it will force them both positive & change the positive Z scale value to negative. I have no idea where to post this issue now.

do you have or know a programmer? maybe redefine the mirror command to recognize a DB and not allow a mirror action to be executed on one?

i've toyed with that idea for certain DB's and tables for the explode command here.

i'm assuming you have "uniformly scaled" option checked for your DB's?

Yes I have access to multiple programmers. That is a very good idea about the mirror command. Although we'll make it a custom routine so we can use it from here on out independently of the version of Autocad. As far as the uniformly scaled, I've tried both with the same result. I believe Autocad has always handled blocks like so, I just was un aware of it until now. Thanks for all of your help.

    AutoCAD 2008 - English SP1
Every insert I tested exploded as expected -- flipped, -1 x-scale, etc. So , no problem, here.
