    Cool Alignment starting point

    Creating an alignment..
In the dialogue box it asks for "Starting Station" Default is 0+00.00'...
We start our stations at the first Perpendicular Centerline of another street for example to our alignment Centerline with station at 10+00.00. In Land Desktop we had the option to "Pick a Point", which was that point I mentioned above, now I don't see that option and I tried faking it by measuring the distance from that station 10+00 point, to the point I want to extend behind sta. 10+00. example: technically the alignment measures about 182.37' prior to sta 10+00 (The intersection I mentioned above), so i would make the "starting station" 8+17.63. But it doesn't give me confidence that sta 10+00 is that exact intersection point. For one it looks a little off and techically it is 182.370001' measuring from sta. 10+00....

I don't want to have to measure everytime I make an alignment to give that starting ation (accuracy confidence lacks thereof) and another restriction is I need Sta 10+00.00 to be that exact point....Please advise.. I can explain more if need be. Thanks.

    Default Re: Alignment starting point

Just use the default station value at alignment creation time. After the alignment is created, go the alignment properties, station control tab, and asign the new stationing. You can then assign a station to any point you want to select on the screen.
