Fields in tables stop working

I'm new to using tables and everything was working fine for me with the tables I had created and while I was inputing the info into them, all of the fields in my drawing lost the capability of editing the text.

I can copy and paste from field to field, but that's it. How can I remedy this problem? It has already taken me a few hours creating these and I don't want to have to start over. I'm offering added reputation for help.

I would like to add that it also affects new tables I create. Is there a setting somewhere that I mistakenly changed?

What AutoCAD are you using?

I have seen something similiar. Is the table in a side or front view? the editing only works in a top view. Try to AUDIT the drawing that should fix it

I'm using vanilla 2007. It's also in the front view. It'll work for a period of time when I open the drawing then, all of a sudden, it'll act as if I had exploded it with my not even being able to select the text. I can copy from cell to cell, but that's it. When I save it and reload, the process starts over again.
