Stand Alone Licenses to Network Licenses

Has anyone gone through this process? We have 2 stand alone licenses that need to now be shared so more people can start learning Revit. What needs to be done to convert from the stand alone to the network license.

Any experiences or help would be appreciated.

You need to contact your reseller. They will likely be an upcharge because network seats have a higher rate than standalone.

I did the same thing earlier this year, and it went -fairly- easy. I simply talked to my reseller and had to pay a network-activation fee to convert it (somewhere in the neighborhood of $300?) He sent in word to Autodesk and they came back with the proper info I needed to put in my license server (which you'll need to install - can be found on the cd or download.) I, fortunately, was in no real hurry - but it took some time, over a week if I recall correctly.

After talking with my reseller it appears its $525 to transfer from standalone to network. But AutoDesk currently has a trade in offer of a Revit license for an existing AutoCAD 2000 (and above) license. It seems that if we want to move to Revit then transferring AutoCAD to Revit seems logical.

Talk to your reseller about the companion seat offer which is in effect through the end of this month then goes away forever. It allows you to keep your Autocad seat and also get a revit seat for about $1500 + $700 subscritpion = $2200.
