Create one and then "Rectangular Pattern".
Check this out...
Visually it's correct, as far as production ready geometry.... doubt it.
With more than 30 minutes and some serious feature planning it could be streamlined. To answer the question... yes. This is just one way to do it... badly.
I got to fooling with this again today while showing it to a co-worker...
Seems that if you make the material THIN enough, you can do a compound curve using the bend command. That being said, you'd first bend your indiviual piece inward (to form the louver) and then bend again down the middle at the same radius and specified degree as your total surface shape.
In theory, you can make this very simple.
I'm curious to see if someone comes up with a punch that can do this
