If you are using an opening family then it will treat it as straight opening in the curved wall. You can use an in-place void to cut the curved wall or you can use a curved curtain wall that will automatically embed into the wall. If you use a curtain wall just delete the mulliosn and use empty system panels and you'll be left with an opening.
Remember that until you add curtain grids to 'facet' a curved curtain wall it will show as a flat plane. Just add grids and it should be OK.

Why not use the wall opening tool? It works fine and will cut the wall as expected.

Sure David, just like you to suggest the obvious .
Of course that will work if the opening is a simple rectangle. I think I was reading the storefront aspect of the question and got sideways.

haha np, in case the opening is also curved in elevation though, the approach you suggested (in-place wall containing a void to cut the wall) is the way to go. Now what if you want a curtain wall to fill that space? Hmmmmm...see my solution and pitch in with perhaps other techniques. If you can't figure out what I did, post and I'll try give some more hints
