    Thanks for your reply!

    Here are the four questions.
1.) Your name, location, and profession.
2.) When do you use cad in your production process?( i.e. preliminary design, design development, ect.)
3.) What types of standardization do you use?
4.) What are some advantages or disadvantages that cad brings to your practice?

While you wait for additional responses, you may check out some of the previous responses to these questions.

There may be additional responses in other threads, so you might try searching.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.
You will get a quicker response from your fellow AUGI members than if you sent it to me via a PM or email.

Seems to me that all 5 have the same instructor.
I'd be glad to answer them, but I'm also in Civil Engineering.

1.) Your name, location, and profession.
Harold Pei, Honolulu Hawaii, CAD Manager

2.) When do you use cad in your production process?( i.e. preliminary design, design development, ect.)
    Through all phases of design.

3.) What types of standardization do you use?
Our standards are based off of the US NCS 3 standards.

4.) What are some advantages or disadvantages that cad brings to your practice?
Advantages: x-refs are great, especially when _orking with an architectural firm and client who keeps changing their design.

Disadvantages: Working with people who make up their own standards, just because they're not used to using the one that's set up where you are. Those black spots that every hand drafter used to get when using paper and ink (I always wanted to do that, but by the time I got into it, they had started to embrace CAD).

One I tend to ask is
"What do you use the Defpoints layer for?"
"Do you like to use M-text"
"Given a template, can you follow a standard?"
"What's the difference between an ellipse and 4 joining arcs?"
"Do you like toolbars, Ribbions or the keyboard?"
Simple questions that can let you know just how experienced the user is and about how long they've been using Cad and how well they can adapt to change.
