Default Loadbearing columns under slab using filter

    Hi,
I know it has been disscussed a lot here how to shade loadbearing colmns/walls etc.
I am using a filter to shade (try to) my columns under. The porblem I have is that because they are under a slab they don't shade.
Any suggestions would be much apprciated.

    Thanks

Default Re: Loadbearing columns under slab using filter

Apparently this is something specific to Australia, because when I asked this question to the factory and subscription helpdesk they had never heard of shading load-bearing under.

The first most obvious method is, to set your view to wireframe, then columns projected can be set to shade and columns cut can be set to hatch. But with this method you have other problems with beams not showing correctly.

The best work-around I have come up with is to create a duplicate view of your floor plan, then apply a view template which turns off everything not required (depending on whether you just want columns or walls as well and which sets the cut plane to cut through under slab\beam level, then apply a filter which sets the elements to show as shaded similar to what you have already setup.

Then I have been placing the view onto the plotting sheet with the floor plan placed over (make sure you put the load-bearing shade view on the sheet first, otherwise it will mask the columns or walls over)

Subscription help desk's only advice was to used filled regions in plan, but I think the work-around described above is smarter, at least it will update if you make changes to the columns.

I am sure there must be a better way of doing it, anyone?
