We need to have shadows show on colored Area Plans--
have set Color Fill to "background"--shadows not showing.
Is this possible?

Do you have the ground plane set to the level you are showing? We do this all the time. Check under advanced model graphic, sun and shadow settings. You will need a new setting for each level.

Scott,
Yes, ground plane is set for each floor.
Is there something about "Area Plans" -vs- normal floor plans
which may affect shadows--I have Color Fill Schemes set to "background".
Shadows show up fine in normal floor plan views--it is just the area plans
that they do not display in.
Thanks.

Shadows should display ok in the Area plan to. Is the floor on?
Hey there,
I used to get a warning when colors were set to "background" whenever I tried to use shadows.....no matter what kind of view.
Let us know if this gets better.
Steve
Still no luck. Shadows do not show in Area Plans w/ color fills on.
I have checked several things:
1. Color Fill Scheme--color fill set to "background"--Revit did give error message saying shadows will not appear if color fill set to "foreground".
2. Have tried all settings for Graphics--i.e. Open GL and overlay planes
ON/OFF, etc.--no effect eitherway.
3. Ground plane is set to appropriate level in each plan in Advanced Model Graphics.
4. There are no floors in the model at this stage--but shadows show correctly in "normal" plan views.
I suspect a graphics/display issue.....
Any ideas?

Any chance the shadows are just very light? (sometimes the obvious as to be asked)

A BIM without the 'I' is just a BM - those in the medical profession know what that amounts to
Dimitri,
Nope--shadows are set at about 40, Sun at about 30.
As mentioned earlier, the shadows display properly on the
"normal" Floor Plans--just not on the Area Plans with Color Fills.
I suspect a graphics/display issue......
