    Default DWG, DXF, Compatible Version

I have AUTOCAD LT 2004 on Windows XP home. I drew up a DWG sketch and it could not be opened by two different people I e-mailed this file to. Both said the reason was "incompatable version". Also, both recipients of this DWG file asked if I could send it as a DXF file. Is there a way I can configure my AUTOCAD LT to send compatable files and how do I convert a DWG to DXF? Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Mike

Please note I've *moved* this thread from the Coffee Without CAD Forum to this one as I feel this particular Forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi

Check out the following Technical Documents on the Autodesk web site under the Knowledge Base section -

ID: TS21175 - DXFOUT prompts are different from those used in previous AutoCAD® releases

ID: TS16173 - Changing the default file format for the SAVEAS command

    Have a good one, Mike
