Stained Glass look

I've been having a problem with "hide" and "Realistic" not working properly. Seems I keep getting a stained glass effect instead of an opaque look. What gives with that? Have checked every setting and can't figure how to fix this. Anybody have this problem before?

Sorta. I had a corrupt template that I started the work in. I just copied it to a new OOTB template, and it fixed the problem.
