Default TIF and JPEG files embedded?

Is there a way of actually embedding the graphics file into an AutoCAD file? I know you can image ref them in like you would an X-ref file but I would actually like to embed them into the drawing with out image ref.

    Thanks

Raster Design 2008 can embed bitonal images. See this link for more info and other ideas

Open the image file in an Image editor / viewer (something like Paint). Select all, copy (Ctrl+C). Then in AutoCAD paste. This creates an OLE embedded entity. Unless the recipient of your drawing doesn't have a program which can view that image it will show normally when he/she opens the DWG.

Some people prefer first embedding it in a Word document, then copy-n-paste to AutoCAD. But that's not really necessary, since most everyone has some form of image viewer installed.

You can also use jpgout or tifout to create an image of the whole thing.
Give people a job worth doing, the tools to do it, recognition of a job well done & get out of the way.

And of course, if you need to give the recipient a live DWG file, then use File --> eTransmit. This will create a ZIP containing all files relevant to the drawing, including Plot settings, xrefs and attached images.

If you happen to have a license to Raster Design you can. I have not been able to find a way to do it without RD. Since using RD I cannot live without it.
