Default Proximity of Label to Duct - wiping out Duct!!

    Hi,

Please see attached image. The label is quite far from the duct. However, even at this distance, the duct is being wiped out as if the label were on top of the duct. I am quite sure the bounding rectangle of the text is nowhere near the duct.

Is there a setting to control this tolerance? I looked through the MEP tabs of the Options menu, but could not find anything.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Paul

Try going to Menu > Format > Style Manager > Documentation > Label Curve Styles

Edit the "Duct With System Label" style and go to the "Label Style Annotation" tab, change the value for "Gap"

You may also want to try going to the "Label Style Offset" tab and change the value for "Clear Distance Offest".

    Buzz,

Much, better, thanks. I set the first one to a really small value (e.g. 1/32" or 1/64") and the other was already zero.

It's not perfect, but manageable. If Autodesk developer reads this, please consider reducing the possible tolerance to zero. I still get the 'wiped out' duct at a decent distance.
