    Default Dual Monitor ?

    Hello Everyone,

My company purchased dual monitors for some of the users because of the screen space that's gets eaten up with dialogs/windows when using Civil 3D.

My question is; Should I be using them as one large horizontial monitor or individual monitors? Any input would be greatly appriciated.

    Use them as individual monitors.

Some of your dialogue will go to the second screen, correct?

I have my second monitor showing toolbars.

Mine is set up so that one monitor has Civil 3D open, the other one has all of my buttons and other things. The only things I left on my Civil 3D window are the menues, layer toolbar, command line and the properties window.

If you use them as individual monitors, be aware that AutoCAD likes certain items on the "primary" monitor.

Here is something you might find useful:
    http://www.mediachance.com/free/multimon.htm

I have dual 23" widescreens and this program puts a taskbar
on the second screen. There is too much realestate for me to
jump back to the other monitor to find the taskbar.

Speaking of dual monitors I have a quick question. I had my layer manager on the other monitor and of course closed ACAD so it saved that setting. Now I do not have the second monitor installed, and when I open the layer manager it is off my monitor somewhere. How do I get it back? I know there was a stupid fast way, but can't recall.

Thanks for the link Robert, I think this will help. I will give this a try next week. I would offer a solution to Tim's issue but I'm don't have one, as I am new to using dual monitors.
