Default worksets and working at home

We recently aquired home licences for all of our seats of Revit and are allowing ceratin employees to take advantage of them. Unfortunatly we do not have a VPN. So when working from at home detached from the network is it possible to work on a worksets enabled project?

Last week an employee brough home a copy of her local file and worked on it for a few hours over the weekend. But she could not save her changes as Revit could not find the central file. I have a laptop and use off line files to avoid this issue and I am not easily able to re-create this problem. Does anyone have any idea?

you could checkout a workset and work on it. Revit will prompt you for the danger of that while away but you should be able to sync back on monday.
Note that i definitely don;t recommend that, get a VPN instead

If she will for certain be the only one working on the project. She can take her local file home, then when she opens it she'll get the warning that it can't find the central... thats ok. Then have her Click the puzzle piece, and check all the boxes, then click make editable. Now she owns everything and can work, then when she comes in she opens that file, Revit will know what she worked on, check it out from the central and she can then STC.

NOTE if anyone works on the same thing while she is gone she won't beable to save.
