    Default Grid Bubble Text

Is there a way to hide the Text inside the grid bubble in a section view?

I dont think so . if you need to change the text you to say "grid" or something you need to use a detail component.

Do you think it is possible to create new a family and assign a y/n visibilty parameter to the text?

yes, you can do that. you can make it invisible and/or put grid in the bubble if you dont want it to be blank.

dont forget that you wil have to create a new grid type in your project after you load in your new bubble.

if you want to use a detail symbol here is one that i created a while back that has editible text.

I'm going to need a little more help. I've created a new grid family. I clicked on the text, element properties and clicked the little box to the right of the visible parameter and created a new parameter. Loaded it into my project, created a new grid with this symbol, but I still do not see where I can turn visibilty on/off.

in my project grid bubble i made 2 family types. 1 with the grid # and 1 with the text turned off.
in my project in the grid system family i created 2 grid styles. 1 with the text visible and one with the text turned off.

in the type parameters of the grid system family you need to change the symbol to be the grid head family type that you want for that particular grid type.

i am attaching a quick grid bubble that has the text on/off parameter.
    i hope this helps.

If I try to accomplish the on/off thing by changing types won't that change both plan and section grids. I would like to hide text in the section and show text in plan. I thought I could do this with an on/off instance parameter.

you have to remember the grid is a 3d element. in section/detail views i use the detail symbol that i previously posted to change my grid text.
