    Default saving 2008 c3d down to 2006 c3d

we received a topographic survey that was completed in 2008 c3d and saved down to R2004 format in order that we could open it in 2006 ldd, but when we try to open it in 2006 ldd we get "out of memory" message after loading about 6%, the dwg file is only about 3mb, we have 2gb of ram, any help is appreciated

First thing I would try is to "recover" the file.

we already tried "recover" but it still locks up, we have had the original purged and then saved down, thanks

it appears that something with the 2008 hatch patterns saving back to 2006 caused the problems, once we took those out and saved to 2006 we were then able to open the dwg
