    Hey Guys and Gals,

    Just a very specific question:

Have you or would you preset your print settings within an Office Template?

As you may know, you can create multiple print options and save them. These settings are saved within a template. If you created many of the standard views within the template, this might be useful. Then again, it may be overkill.

    Any opinions?

(Yeah,... there goes Pandora's box again!)

    Thanks in advance...

    - Britt

Na... Printing in Revit is so darn simple. After I've got the project rolling it just takes a few seconds to get printing all setup.

Doesn't seem to be that big of an issue here either. There have been a number of people who have had plotting problems but the problems seem to have been related to hardware and driver issues, not basic settings. If you are looking for areas to trim, I would say that this wouldn't be sorely missed.

Sounds like this falls under the category of cool to do but horribly unnecessary. —Unless someone has way too much free time.

This is good news. I'm also glad to hear you consider printing in Revit to be that user friendly.

    ah, the voice of dissent...

In our networked environment I do have printer options for printer/plotter, sheet sizes and %of actual size options preset. This is much better than making folks add them as they want them...they just pick em. If one doesn't exist, it is "easy" to make one, but why make them when it can be ready and waiting.

The role of cadd admin is slightly different with Revit than others...and this is one of the things that can easily be worked out up front.

Not a high priority by any means but if you are asking if it deserves mention in a template creation strategy, it should be there.

    Again, thanks for asking!

<<----------is with Steve on this one. Print settings are a must in a good template.

I use three printers plus the pdf writer and may move to dwf soon too, to get everything preset for these really speeds things up.

Good feedback. I'm glad to see that people are taking advantage of the possibilities when given the chance.

I'll add the print settings in a limited way to the tutorial. At the very least, the users need to be aware that it is an option if they wish to exercise it.

    Thanks for the dissent!
