Table edit cause PC extremely slow

I' m beginner to draw the table using AutoCAD LT 2008.
I' ve to restart my computer every hour when editing a table because that processing become extremely slow, took about 10 seconds for every text edit and even longer if copy multiply sells. My PC's CPU is 3.06GHz and RAM is 996 Mb.
Any one knows what cause the problem.
