    Post Specialty Equipment Tag

I've been wrestling with this issue for a while and I must be missing something somewhere, but I'm trying to create a tag that will display services that are specific to Fume Hoods such as:

    Chilled Water
    Vacuum

I'd like for the tag to read if a list of services are checked in the family with a yes/no parameter. So if I make a new type of Fume Hood and check chilled water, it will show up in the tag.

Is this possible or am I utterly not understanding tags at all?

    Lightbulb Re: Specialty Equipment Tag

    Hi,

I have struggled with adding service call outs to a FH as well. Check out the link below, it's the questions I asked forum when I started building my laboratory families library for my firm. What you are trying to do is tag the services on either post of the fume hood with a tag. This is pretty easy if you separate the services per post, then by location (L1-L4 & R1-R4. Your parameters will be simple text instance parameters.

You will then want to set up a tag for the left side fo the FH, and one for the right. The tag will look for the service parameter inside of the FH family. I would keep the FH services in a shared parameter list (I've had to go back and fix this in my families). It allows you to schedule the services in the hoods instead of having a callout in the plans/elevations. Please post your tag family if you have questions.

I hope this post was helpful to you.

    Default Re: Specialty Equipment Tag

Yeah that was helpful. I figured thats what I needed to do when no one replied.

Hopefully, (and I'm really hoping here) is that there is a way in 2009 to take the revision tag and hack/mess with it so it acts as a floating tag that will add and subtract services as I click or unclick yes/no parameters in the family type.

    THAT would be awesome.

    Thanks again.
