Missing workspaces in C3D 2008

Help, please!

I had C3D and Vista installed on my machine about two months ago. Everything had been working great, except for the few minor bugs that could be lived with. Two days ago, I tried to open C3D throught the icon on my desktop rather than through an already established dwg file. When I opened it, I got an error saying that autoCAD was not my default dwg program and would I like to reassociate? I said yes. Well once I got into the program, I had no workspaces visible in the workspace box or in the pull-down menu on the toolbar. I've been all over the internet looking for a fix and I can't seem to find one that works. I've tried inserting a non-corrupt civil.cui file into the application folder, I installed service pack 2 and nothing has worked. Yesterday, I at least had the 2d & Annot., and the AutoCAD workspaces so I had some menu bars to work from but now I don't even have that. Any help would be appreciated!!

try this

in explorer browse to
C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008\UserDataCache\Support
copy the civil.cui, civil.dll and civil.mnl

open civil 3d

type menuload and unload all the loaded customization groups

in explorer browse to
C:\Documents and Settings\"you user"\Application Data\Autodesk\C3D 2008\enu\Support

delete the civil.cui, civil.dll, civil.mnl and also the civil.mnr

paste the copied civil.cui, civil.dll and civil.mnl

go back to civil 3d and type menu

and load the civil.cui
