    Default Export Options?

    Hi again.

I've create a structure member model of mainly steel beams & columns. Is there a way of exporting just the centre lines of the members? I'd like to somehow import it into a design analysis program (Robot).

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi Dave

I've never tried this with structural members but you may try creating a display configuration that only shows the centerlines and then export it to AutoCAD.

I can do this with conduits and get only the centerlines.

Have you looked on the Robobat website. I think they may have a porter for that. Your other option is to Switch to the Diagnostic detail level and export it. I'm not sure what format Robot uses (we use Ram) so I don't know what it will allow you to import. There's also a free IFC tool other there someplace. We've used to that get from point to point before.
Let me know if you need more info, and I'll see what I can find.
