Parameters requesting the phase

I'd like to add functionality to my standard door parts so that when a door is existing, it automatically changes the swing to 45 degrees. If the door is placed as new construction, it will show up as 90 degree.

I didn't see anything in the help files that might indicate how to create a parameter that requests a value based on the phase of the revit model (0=existing, 1=new, etc.) or something similar.

Anyone have a suggestion or some sample family?

If you made the swing parameter a type parameter, then you could set up the door(s) as either an existing or new door, and change the swing angle once within the door type.

When placing or editing, you'd have to select the correct type manually.

That's exactly what I want to eliminate. We have enough repeat business, or tenant work in a base building we designed that doors change from new to existing fairly regularly. If the family just recognized what it should look like based on the phase, it would be a fairly straightforward setup when going to the next job...

This would be tricky to implement, as Phases are user-editable parameters (eg. you can delete Existing and New, and create phases called Lemon, Apple and Grape) so they would be inaccessible in the Family editor.
