    Very large or very small or distance from origin is well known limitation. Nothing new here.

    malformed? looks like it a new term for me. I remember when I create two solids, sometimes it can't be union. is that a malformed too?

    Simply then make the required offset and region the outer and inner shape ,than presspull the outer shap..that will give you the similar result..
