    Exclamation Best Video Card?

I was looking around and trying to find the best video card for Revit. Now there are workstation cards that are 512mb that are in the same price range as 1gig gaming cards. Has anybody tested these to see which works best? Which one should I get? Should I spend the $800 more and get a 1gig workstation card? I am not huge on rendering, its more of just the best performance for day to day use.

    Thanks,
    AA

Probably one of the best for Revit right now is the Quadro FX570... for a price of around $185...

If this is what you want, I would pick an ATI FireGL.

An entry level 128MB card is more than enough for Revit. I would make sure it has dual DVI ports on it, though.

I went from a 256mb ATI Raedo x600 to a 128mb ATI FireGL v3400 with marked improvement except when Revit it stretched across both monitors. The secondary monitor tend to get a bit "glitchy".

I have not experienced any issues when running Revit maximized to both of my LCD displays, running a QuadroFX 550 card. My total screen resolution is 2560x1024.

Could be because it's not the same card I'm using. I wish I could run a higher resolution but mine maxes out at 1280x1024

I'm running dual 24's @ 1920x1200 with a FireGL v3400, for the price you really can't beat this card

Both of my displays are at 1280x1024 (the maximum, native resolution for my displays, both are Dell 1907FP 19" LCD's), hence the 2560x1024 total resolution I mentioned. Are you not running 1280x1024 on both of your displays?

I guess I missed that. I have the same setup. I've been using Revit more and more (hence the video card upgrade) and I think I've got our IT manager sold on one large display which, to me, is better with Revit. If I had to guess I'd say he will probably just get one from Dell like he always does but I was looking at some 22" & 24"monitors this weekend and was really impressed with some of the HP displays I saw. Heads and tails better than the comparable samsung and viewsonics next to them. Would it be worth pushing for one of those or would I be just as happy with a Dell?
