Default Express tools and the burst command

    hi,

my company have decided to use 2008. before this everyone was using 06.

    my question is:

is there any express tools available for 08? i know it has layer management tools but ive not been able to use the 'Burst' command. im sure theres other features i havnt come across yet that i havnt got.

When you install 2008, whether it's network or a stand alone, you need to check the box to install the express tools. If you did check the box during the install and they still aren't there, type EXPRESSTOOLS on the command line to load them.

I had this very problem. When I installed AutoCAD 2008 the 1st time I didn't realize the Express Tools selection was hidden in the Customize Install section ( I may have the section name incorrect).

So I had to go through the Windows Add/Remove Software tool to add the Express Tools and everything was fine. (You may need the original installation disc to add them)

    Good Luck.

ah right ok. thing is, i dont do any of that stuff, i work for a major company (Atkins if any1s heard of them) who have IT to setup everything. i cant even install google sketchup!

anyway they must of not ticked to box. i did install cad 07 on my home pc last night and that had the option to install express tool.

thanks for the info ill try the expresstools command and see if they load.

Easy fix. Just get the CD, and you can install components from the install manager. Just go to customize, check express tools, load them and you're done.

If IT gives you any carp, tell them they didn't set up the deployment correctly and you need the extra tools for productivity. If they still give you grief, go to your boss. I use my express tools all the time. It'd suck if I didn't have them.
