    Default detailed cut out view

    A long time ago, this guy i was working with showed me this command that you can do in model space where you can actuall circle a part of your drawing, then click anywhere on the screen and it creates an enlarged view of what you circled. like as a zoomed in detail view. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this command before and if you have does anyone know how to do it. I dont remember how to and it would be nice to remember how. thanks!

    Hi Tony. Welcome to AUGI.

    It is not a standard AutoCAD command/function. It may be in Mechanical Desktop but, more likely, it is a third-party Lisp routine.

    You can do the same by hand (just like on a drawing board) or you can achieve similar results by using paperspace viewports on a layout tab.

    The program name is DETAIL.LSP and is available
    @ freecadapps.com --> Autocad General --> Lisp files & Tools
