    Default Revit and Civil3D compatible?

This week I hope to meet with a couple of our company principles and talk about CAD upgrades, including Civil3D and adding Revit to our repertoire. How well do Revit and Civil3D work together? Can I cross-reference models back and forth between the two? Does anyone have experience referencing alignments into Revit and basing modeling off it and vice versa?

I have had success working with Civil 3D and Revit 2008. Our Civil engineer
provided his site plan, which we imported into Revit as Autocad and converted the grading
to Revit topo surfaces. This worked especially well for 3D curbs and walkways
conforming to the slope--which is next to impossible in Revit.

    cheers.....

So the civil engineer had the curbs and walkways modeled in Civil3D?

For my purposes, I'm not concerned with the surfaces (as soon as I say that, one of the engineers will see that and think it's neato). I'm much more concerned about an alignment as a center line of a rail alignment.
