using filters to override linked plans

im trying to "grey out" my linked suite layouts in my main file. i cant use the halftone because its still too dark. and the lines are thick. i've created a filter that selects everyting on the "suites" workset. then i changed the overrides on the filter to be gray cut and projection lines as well as the line thickness to 1. when i apply this filter the linked plans dont change to gray.

any idea why i cant override these colours?

You can go to Visibility/Graphics > Revit Links > Under Display Settings select Custom > go to Model Categories tab > Change model categories to Custom > Override the styles you want.

Once it is done, you can create a view template and apply to other views, so you don't have to repeat the same steps.

ive got almost 20 links. ill have to modify each one. shouldnt the filter work??

As far as I know, there's no way to filter anything on a linked file...
