    Default Architectural Background "Shifted"

After saving my work last night, I came into the office this morning and opened my revit project file. All of my work was fully intact, but the architectural background had shifted a foot or so to the southeast. Everything looked slightly off.

As an experiment, I tried to move the background to match my work. Revit immediately told me that the new location of the architectural background wouldn't match the location of the linked file, so I'd have to save it as something else, which totally makes sense to me.

The question is, how did all the mechanical and electrical components "magically" shift overnight without anyone getting into the file? Only four people in the office have Revit installed, and none of them are assigned to this particular project.

Also, I tried referencing older versions of the architect's model, and locations of those backgrounds matched the current one, so I know that it is the MEP components that somehow got bumped a few feet.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, somehow over the course of the week, an electrical engineer got assigned to this job. He was in the file playing around, and I'm betting that's how things got moved...

    arghhh.....

lol its gunna be fun working with teams of Revit users who are newbs at the program. Ive found that the more things I "pin" the better. I make it a habbit to 'pin" my insertes cad files, 2d arch backgrounds ect.

or, when you link the Architectural or Structural model, change username to "Administrator" or, something anybody else can use and check that workset out. that way when someone try to modify or move background, it won't let you do.
