    Default Duct system

Having mixed the Duct types to get this to work, I'm not able to tab select the entire duct system making me think that there is a connection broken here. Any ideas on how to get this to work? When I hook a resgister up to it, will it create a system correctly?

    TIA,

edit: Figured it out.. just needed more time, patience and creative ducting.

Youmight also want to change your template to use 1R elbows by default, it makes ductwork fit much better than all large radius elbows.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.

OT: While I'm here, I may as well ask; what does the designation 60/30 indicate on a duct size as opposed to a 60x30?

It indicates that somebody has changed the "Rectangular Duct Size Separator" setting in the Mechanical Settings dialog (see attached).

Well, the drawings I am referencing for the model were done in CAD. So I'm guessing the engineer/intern that did the Mech. drawings either mistakenly put '/' for an entire main branch of ducting, or the '/' indicates something special about that branch (taps v. tees? oval? something..)

Ah, well in that case it is most likely implying oval ductwork.

While there has been no official response from the client yet regarding this, further research shows that all ducts with the #/# designation utilize Tees for all branch-offs, while #x# designated ducts utilize Taps for branch-offs.

As far as elbow throat radii are concerned, the user should be aware that most designs specify SMACNA standards of construction for ducted air systems. This effectively precludes the use of 1D throats. Special dispensation is required from the engineer of record, either in the form of an rfi response or an addendum or even the original specifications.
