Thanks goes to all who are up for a challenge,

I have a AutoCAD file... please bare with me here... originally created in 2008, converted to 2004 and now can not be opened in 2008.

The acad.err file says:
INTERNAL ERROR: !dbobji.cpp@6769: eNotOpenForWrite. I have no idea what is causing this. The file was created in 2008 Land Desktop Companion and has point objects called "AECC_POINT"s. Other than that the files are pretty clean.

Upward and Downward compatibility has never been AutoCAD's strong point, but hopefully there is something I can do to make the process a bit less painful.

can you still open the file in 2004? if so try DXF out and DXF in back to 2k8.

Yes, the 2004 file is fine in 2004. I have found a work around by wblocking out all MS Data and then piecing the file back together in 2008. I do not understand why this simple process works but it does. The unfortunate problem is this may have to done done over and over until I this project is completed.

There must be some entity or something that is causing this error!

Looks like it is a simple fix after all.

I had locked a few layers... just unlocking the layers is all I have to do!
