Question Easiest way to share a tool bar???

    Ref, AutoCAD 2008, SP1.

I think I have read way too many threads about this stuff, I am now confused, please help.
I am trying to share a customized tool bar with my coworkers, and I'm having a bit of a problem.

We are all on a network, and have access to common directories.
    What is the easiest way?

    Thanks,
    Charlie

Put the menu on the network, load it as a partial on each persons machine. Open the toolbar. Make sure to set the permissions to the file as desired.

OK, I'm a little slow, is this going to be a CUI file?

If you already have an MNS/MNU file from an earlier version, you can load it also (it will convert to CUI).

When I post this CUI file on our network, and then load it into another station, it is missing all of the icons on the tools. Am I not loading it correctly?

Toolbar icons are not stored in the menu. They either reference a reference file or individual .BMP files. Figure out which one and make sure the appropriate files are in the support file search path on each machine.

What we do is always use .BMP files (with NO PATH stored in the menu), and keep these files in a network location and add this path to the support file search path. (i.e.: \\server\share\cad\icons)

There is also a new entry in the Options/Files dialog for icon location under the Customization Files section in recent versions of AutoCAD. So you don't need to add it to the support paths.

ok, so I got Robert's note about the cust. file locations. I have not had a chance to play with that yet, but I did copy all of my icon files up to a network location. Here's what I did:

    - Copied files
    - Added Path to Support files
    - relaunched ACAD and the buttons were still empty
    - had to go to each button and assign the proper icon to each

is there a chance that putting the icon path into the customizations directory
will fix this, or am I going to have to edit each toolbar button, each time I share
    them?

    Thanks,
    Charlie
