Default Symbols - "Snap-able" with align tool?

    Hi All,

Is there any way to make custom revit families "Snap-able" along more than two lines?

By "Snap-able," I mean the following... if I start an ALIGN command, I can hover over an edge and use it as a reference line.

By default, it seems that the symbols are "Snap-able" along the X and Y axis reference planes. But I need multiple snap lines on this particular symbol. I can't add new reference planes to symbols. Reference Lines don't seem to be "Snap-able"

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

Both Reference Planes and Reference Lines are snappable (including normal model lines)....the way to make them snappable is to change the "reference" property....it must be weak, strong, or something other than "not a reference"

    Hi Luigi,

Thanks for your response. I was just about to jump out of my seat with excitement, given your proposed solution.

But unfortunately, altering the reference parameter doesn't seem to change the way my Symbol behaves, once it is loaded into a project. Please take a peek at the attached symbol family. Some of the lines have been made "Strong Reference." The green reference line (diagonal) has also been set to "Strong Reference."

However, when I load this symbol into a project, it doesn't seem to work as I hoped. Neither the reference line, nor Strong Reference line become snappable.

Perhaps this only works for detail components, and not symbols?

I was just wishing for the same thing. Dang - doesn't look like annotation sybols can do this...
