Default Convert MTEXT into a Multileader

Summary: The ability to convert MTEXT into a MULTILEADER.

Description: I would like to be able to convert mtext to a multileader by using the "ADD LEADER" button.

How Used: Sometimes you have text that needs moved to a location that will require a leader where it didn't before. If you are using multileaders then you would need to re-type (or cut and paste) the text into the new multileader. It would save a lot of time if you could use the "ADD LEADER" command for multileaders to convert the text to a multileader.

    Feature Affinity: MText

Love this idea! I would like to take it one step further. Why not have this option for blocks as well? Obviously, you wouldn't need to add a leader to just any block, but there are some blocks that are used for annotation (coded notes, finish tags, etc,) that would benefit from this ability.

I can see the use in adding a 'Convert to MLeader' context menu item for MText/Block (methinks I can offer this fairly easy if I have time this week?), but am not sure that I fully understand what you mean by performing such a task with 'Add Leader'... Perhaps you could clarify exactly what you mean, and outline the desired procedure (pics too)?

    Cheers

    Quick update -

I had some time today to slap together a working Autoloader app & .NET Assembly, which contextually converts an implied selection of MText & BlockReference (non-XREF) into MLeader entities via context (right-click) menu... ContentType.MTextContent, and ContentType.BlockContent respectively... Tested in AutoCAD & Civil 3D 2015.

More on converting BlockReference to MLeader, this app also copies over all Attribute values, and supports the conversion of Dynamic Blocks... Just be mindful that MLeader inherently does not support Dynamic Properties, so those are lost in the process.

Still waiting on clarification to finalize the app.

    Cheers

We've had this ability for years in ToolPac. It is a nice feature.

It's such a simple thing to do, also... MLeader has an inherent MText Property, which is automagically opened via Transaction when Visual LISP calls for an MLeader's TextString Property (which is really quite elegant, BTW).
