    Lightbulb Specialty Equipment Families

Soooo the specialty equipment family does not have a Width, Depth, or Height parameter embedded in the family template, therefore not showing up in schedules. However, the specialty equipment schedule includes a Width, Height, and Depth parameter.

Can someone please explain to me how I include a Width, Height, Depth into a family?

If you click "edit" on the parameter in the schedule, it is greyed out (of course) but it is listed as a shared family. When I click to add a shared parameter in the family, it is not listed.

What did I miss? Do I have to technically create duplicate parameters of Width, Height, and Depth to pull this off?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing there is not an answer. That means from now on when I want to make specialty equipment families, they need to be made from the generic model template then switched to specialty equipment. Looks like I'm making some families over again. :\

    You've lost me.

Neither the specialty or generic family templates include with, height, depth as built-in system parameters. If you're seeing these in a schedule, then at some point parameter has been added into either the family as a shared parameter or into the project as a project or shared parameter. I'm guessing it was added as a project parameter.

First step is to track down where the parameter was created and what is using it.

Both generic models and specialty equipment will need to use a shared parameter for w,h, and d.
