Default Very Odd Problem - Floor Plans

Okay, Here is something I have never seen before. I have a floor plan drawn in model space...all the walls are the same wall type and are clean and no warnings or anything...I Xref it into another drawing with other floor plans to draw sections from it and there are all these holes and warnings randomly in the walls. And even odder, I copied the same floor plan over say 200' for another section cut and the same thing happens but not in the same spots...just more random locations.
    Any ideas?

Could you maybe post a mock dwg?

Sounds like there are wipeouts/textmasks in the drawing with the frames turned off. If you draw a line over the gap does the line appear normal? if you move the xref a small bit to the side does the gap seem to stay in the same spot on the screen?

Turn on the wipeout frames and you'll be able to delete them.

    Wipeout > Frames > On

Or, assuming you don't have any pictures in the drawing you can quick select them and delete them. Go into the properties box (CTRL+1) press the quick select icon at the top right, change "Object Type" to Raster Image and "Operator" to select all. Make sure "How To Apply" is set to Include In New Selection and then press the OK button. This will select all the wipeouts and you can delete them then.

Here is a sample of what I'm talking about.
I tried the wipeout command and it was already set to ON...but if you look at the plan, there really isn't any text near the cuts, so I'm not sure.

Is it only happening in this one drawing or are there any other drawings it happens to? I take it the xref is fine if its opened on its own? Easist thing to do might be start a new drawing and xref it into that instead and copy in the stuff you'd drawn yourself in the affected drawing.

Any layers turned off? the offending wipeouts might be on an off layer.

try opening a blank drawing (template), and inserting the xref in question.

Okay, I think I figured out why this was happening. In another drawing for stair plans, I had them xclipped to show just the stairs for a few different plan levels. When the clipped plans were close to each other they would show those random wall slices...when I move them apart they go away. So My guess is that the hidden part of the xclip still conflicts with the visible part even if its from a totally different file.
