Thanks, but that didn't work. What I had to do was right click on a small patch of light gray next to the Letter A in the top left corner and click on "show menu bar". They've made the menu bar into some sort of "Easter Egg". Nice going.
For future reference, the system variable that controls this is MENUBAR. 0 or 1, off or on.

I'm not sure what has prompted Autodesk to concoct another layer of menu complexity, but if I want to use the program I guess I'll have to spend some time with it.
I wish they would allow the file edit, etc to be in line with the "a" not below it.
